| Buying a restaurant. Make sure you know exactly what is involved when you decide to buy a restaurant in the UK. Consider what day to day life involves and decide if buying a restaurant is what you really want. |
| Buying Tips |
1.) Check the condition of the restaurants equipment before you agree to purchase the business. You may find that some of it may need to be replaced in the near future and this could lead to even further expense on your part if you buy the restaurant. 2.) Choosing the right establishment from the hundreds that are for sale can be difficult. Why not visit your favourite ones as a customer before expressing an interest. This will give you an idea of what customers currently experience and can provide you with some great insight about the business. 3.) Identify other restaurants that will be competing with you in the area. Visit these restaurants as a customer and find out what your potential competitors weaknesses and strength are. This should give you an idea of whether there is scope for your restaurant in the market. 4.) You should sign a non-compete agreement with the current owner that is fair for both parties. These agreements usually specify that the current owner cannot open up another restaurant within a certain radius of the one you wish to purchase. This will help protect your capital outlay and help you maintain your current market share. |
