| Buying Tips |
1.) Spend a bit of time in the area you wish to buy a post office in and try to determine how prosperous the area is. If the post office is situated in an area populated by low income households, you may find that the prospects to increase revenue are poor. Ask local shop keepers what the local economy has been like over the last 5 to 10 years. 2.) Determine whether there is parking available to your customers. Your customers may find it easier to visit larger post office branches who offer parking. 3.) Is the post office on a high street or busy road that guarantees you business from walk in traffic? If you are far from the cluster of shops and good transport networks found near the high street, you may struggle to attract customers because it’s not convenient enough for them to visit your post office. 4.) Get assurances from the business owner and Royal Mail that your post office is safe from closure which can happen if Royal Mail no longer feels your business is busy enough to be part of the Royal Mail network of post offices. |
