  Business Summary
A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE A PRIVATE HIGH DEPENDANCY AMBULANCE MEDICAL and FIRST AID EVENTS SERVICE and FULLY HSE ACCREDITED 'FIRST AID AT WORK' and REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE BASED IN EAST SUSSEX

LOCATION
The business, which essentially operates covering clients predominantly in The Home Counties, but with many events further afield, is run from a combination of a fully renovated and equipped training centre and office, with two of the amblances being kept in a purpose built Ambulance Station attached to the training centre and the other two ambulances stored at a nearby Equestrian Centre.

The business provides a private High Dependency Ambulance Medical Events and First Aid service covering events from an area that covers from Dorset to Dover and Oxford to Suffolk, and substantial additional potential exists to expand into many more areas and/or to diversify into other lucrative areas of the ambulance business to expand in the private ambulance sector at the behest of the new owner.

THE PREMISES
The owner has also very recently invested heavily converting a previous warehouse into a fully functioning and equipped training centre that is divided to provide a Reception Area/Customer Lounge with comfortable sofas' and chairs, coffee machine, refreshment fridge, reception desk and office area, plus 3 professionally presented Training Rooms, complete with comfortable student chairs and desks, anatomy pictures and suspended ceilings with recessed Category 3 lighting.

The property also has a WC/Cloakroom with disabled facilities and in addition to the training rooms, the premises also have secure roller shutter doors leading into a large Ambulance Station that provides parking for two of the specialist High Dependency Ambulances and useful additional storage, and the entire premises are presented to a very high standard with outside signage.

They are also conveniently located close to the nearby High Street and mainline railway train station is 4 minutes walk away, thus providing easy access for candidates. Ample off street parking is available a short distance away from the training center.

THE TENURE
We understand that the premises are held on a renewable lease at a current rent of £10,000 per annum paid by four installments but the present occupier pays a yearly fee of £8,000.

THE BUSINESS
This interesting business currently primarily provides the required ambulance and first aid cover for all types of equestrian events from local gymkhanas to championship shows, as well as all types of contact sports and motor sport events, using 4 x four-wheel drive vehicles, including three high dependency equipped units and one response unit, all fully equipped and sign-written accordingly.

The concept of this successful business idea came into being many years ago, and the owner has built-up a database of prospective clients, with many bookings in place for a new owner to build upon.

In addition to the event cover, as detailed earlier over the last year or so the owner has invested heavily in the business to provide a new facility that is specifically designed to provide a high standard British Ambulance Association Regional Training Centre for First Aid Training, and in particular to provide the Health and Safety (HSE) First Aid at Work and full approval status from the HSE certified courses. There is scope to franchise this approval status by the HSE to other services in this region using the Training Service that is for sale as an umbrella organisation. A number of main providers do undertake this.

The courses are recommended and approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and for example, the aim of the First Aid in the Workplace course is to give a good knowledge of First Aid and to give employers a certificated First Aider to comply with the regulations and the approved code of practice. Course costs vary from just £75 per person for a one day (6 hour) course to £275 per person, and this area of the business, although not yet launched due to the illness of the current owner, is ready and truly 'ripe' for expansion, as indicated above, complete with all documentation and sales material, etc.

POSSIBLE FURTHER POTENTIAL AREAS OF EXPANSION
Apart from the existing area of business, the business has recently been working, with the help of other British Ambulance Association (BAA) members to transfer patients throughout the South East during the heavy snows and in total the BAA provided nearly a hundred 4 x 4 vehicles to help the NHS nationwide. The NHS Ambulance Service and the NHS Hospital Sector Transport Sectors do not have 4x4 Units that can be used in snow and floods. Furthermore, in a normal year members of the BAA undertake 6,000,000 patient movements for the NHS.

At present there are only a few private ambulance services in this area. On a number of occasions these companies have had to decline work from the NHS and Private Sectors. This has been due to a lack of resources both staff and ambulances.

We are also informed by the vendor that in the not too distant future the PCTs will be abolished and the GPS will hold the purse strings. This will be an excellent opportunity for the private ambulance sector to take on the GPS patient transport needs.

The current crews are trained to provide immediate emergency treatment to any patient and a patient transfer service could be run 24/7 (no patient transfers are undertaken at present), and obvious areas to cover include;

From Care homes to Nursing Homes
From Nursing Homes to out patient appointments
From Nursing homes to Hospices
From NHS hospitals to Private Hospitals
From Private Hospitals to Home
From Home to Respite Care
High Dependency Clinical Transfer Service (HDCTS) may be required for those transfers where a patient needs extra care by a Registered Nurse, Paramedic or Registered Emergency Medical Technician.

Long distance transfers are in high demand in this seaside area due to patients travelling within the United Kingdom on holidays and then being taken ill. The two Discovery Units with the latest air suspension lend themselves to undertaking long journeys in the greatest degree of comfort. The new owner can also offer to take a patient with a relation. There are also openings to extend the service into organ transfer and also to undertake the transfer of patients for transplant surgery to regional units, for example.

STAFF
The business is run by the owner with the assistance of a total of 9 part-time staff, all of which are trained to provide immediate emergency treatment to patients, and this includes 2 registered nurses and a fully approved first aid trainer.

VEHICLES and EQUIPMENT
As detailed the business is being sold complete with all 4 vehicles that are comprehensively equipped. Just some of the equipment carried includes Airways, Aspirators, Cervical Collars, Body board, Body Splints, Entonox, Head and Neck Immobilisation Unit, Extraction Device, Oxygen, Resuscitators, Rescue Stretcher, Splints Stretcher and Clinical Wound Management stocks.

COMMENTS
The purchase of this business represents a unique opportunity to acquire a fully equipped and ready to trade business in an area that offers true potential for substantial expansion. The current owner is selling due to very ill health and is nearing retirement, but is more than happy to help a new owner by providing handover help and assistance.
