This franchise business is easily run from home and serves the areas from Robertsbridge in the North of East Sussex, down to Bexhill-On-Sea and surrounding villages on the South Coast, along to Hastings and Ore in the West. It is currently based from a home-office in Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex and therefore as it is basically a van run operation, it can easily be re-located in the catchment area.
THE BUSINESS
The vendor is one of approximately 70 franchisees for Arrow Homecare in the UK. The franchise has the advantage of not paying any on-going fee or percentage of turnover or profits, and is simply obliged to buy a minimum amount of the products used from the head office in Scunthorpe.
Arrow Homecare's main product is offering affordable quality window repairs, they manufacture, supply and install a huge range of window spares and accessories, from a full window refurbishment to a simple new handle or hinge.
Not all the work involves repairs to windows and doors, some replacements are carried out, including new sealed units, door panels, handles and hinges, also adjustments to locks and replacement of gaskets. Replacement units are manufactured by Arrow who also offer a wide range of panels and replacement polycarbonate or self-cleaning glass for conservatories.
The vendor took over the franchise earlier this year and after considerable investment it is starting to grow, but the current owners has realised that a hands-on type of business like this is not something he enjoys and his lack of working capital is preventing him from continuing its development, for example by increasing advertising and leaflets and by offering a wider range of services for example to include sofits and fascias.
Other franchisees also offer outside and interior painting, which is very popular with existing clients and would undoubtedly be available to a new owner, if desired. The business is essentially easily run from home, so a new owner could easily re-locate it. The business phone number is transferable and the Public Liability Insurance and FENSA registration is handled by Head Office, as part of your agreement with them.
