Very successful new online service in the delivery and logistics market. Launched in December 2008, the business has grown rapidly to almost 7000 members with more joining every day. This unique business has caught the eye of the national press, with features on Radio 2 Chris Evans, BBC Working Lunch, and Yahoo! among others.
What it does
This business puts people with items they need to send directly in touch with couriers & people who plan to be driving there anyway. It changes the traditional model of sending - where the sender has to search around for the best deal - and flips it so the sender 'broadcasts' their item for couriers & drivers to make them an offer. The sender ends up receiving multiple offers to choose from, saving time, money and getting a more convenient service. Couriers and drivers benefit by making some more money for a journey they're already going to do.
The Market
Targeting a big niche in a big market, the business is aimed at the millions of home and small business users needing to send thousands of items every week. With over 10,000+ courier businesses and 25m individual drivers, the supply side potential is huge. That is just the UK. Internationally, the business has already been approached for franchising overseas (eg in US, Canada, Norway, Ghana and more).

There is little competition. The service is unique and innovative to this industry. Existing competitors focus on a different part of the market (larger 'backloads' and freight, for example). Our competitive advantage is being one of the first to market with a crowd sourcing methodology for item delivery and leveraging this to build a trust-worthy and robust network of 'Carriers' (the people doing the deliveries). |

Potential growth is enormous. With over 1 million "pick up only" items on ebay every day, the growth in freecycle etc, and the growth in recycling using online auctions, the volume of items to be moved between homes in the UK is growing by about 15 - 20% annually. We've proven this model works and results in lower prices for users of the service. The next steps are to take this to the next level (potentially by leading the business through a round of financing) or expanding to additional geographies. |

Due to personal reasons, we no longer have the time needed to dedicate to this business. While it is not our desire to sell it, we feel we will not be able to grow it to it's potential due to our time restraints. Would be interested in maintaining a level of involvement if desired by buyer. |

My wife and I manage it day to day. Our main focus is either ongoing development, raising capital or marketing (ebay, google, PR, others). We have an excellent web design company (2) but they are all freelance / per hour. |
